‘Substantial’ decline in Chilliwack-area home sales linked to tariff concerns

Home sales in Chilliwack and surrounding areas dropped by 13.8% in February, with 187 units sold, significantly below both the five-year and ten-year averages. The decline is attributed to ongoing economic uncertainty related to tariffs. The benchmark price for single-family homes rose slightly to $909,100, while the overall MLS® HPI composite benchmark price was $743,700. New residential listings fell by 21.5%, and active listings increased to 997 units, the highest in over five years. Months of inventory rose to 5.3, indicating a slower sales pace.
