Lantzville council has decided to implement a three-per cent property tax increase after two years of no increases. This decision follows public feedback from an online survey, where 44% of respondents favored a three-per cent hike. The increase will generate approximately $93,000 for future infrastructure. Alongside this, water user rates will also rise by three per cent, and flat sewer rates will increase by 6.9%. Some council members expressed concerns about the adequacy of the increase for infrastructure needs, while others supported it as a necessary step.
